Been a long time coming.
And the wait just made it all the more sweet.
I honestly didn't know what to expect when I saw the icon for this. I thought it was another fake at first. You made an 8-Bit fight scene work surprisingly well. I loved all the oldschool music and sound effects.
The only thing I didn't quite get was the part with the voices. I assume it's some sort of inside joke. Also, the humor was a little cheesier this time around in the dialogue, but the visual humor (Mario smashing Luigi before he could attack the suitcase, the cardboard cutout of Luigi from the cartoon, etc.) made up for it.
Good to see you've returned. Looking forward to Ep. 8!
I've been a big fan of your work and I've been following this series since Step 1. Looking forward to the last one!
Looks great, but...
Your character Brother was ridiculous. "I'm the strongest being ever and I have no weakness. Also, I use music as a weapon. It's the strongest one, you know. lol" Other than that, the rest was pretty awesome. Shadow busting up the Metal Slug soldiers was hilarious. I'll be keeping an eye out for episode 2.
I haven't seen a hand-drawn flash this good in a while. You'd almost think it were made by Sonic Team themselves. That was a pretty good idea, using voice clips from the various games to further the story along, and I was surprised by how good Nazo sounded. Kinda reminded me of Perfect Cell and Cooler from the DBZ dub.
When does Sonic say "You bastard!" though? I saw in the credits you used clips from Sonic Heroes, so I'll assume it's from that. I just thought the only Sonic game that had any profanity in it was Shadow the Hedgehog, and I didn't play enough of that to hear it.
Anyway, good stuff! I'll watch Pt 2 tomorrow and I'll be keeping an eye out for Pt 3.
Thanks! When Sonic says "You Bastard!", it was edited to make him say that. He did not actually say that in the games. I took a sound that had him say "I think you got that backwards, doc!" and a "start" sound, so the "ckwar" in "backwards becomes "star", making it sound like "bastard".
All edited with GoldWave. With all the voices I have, it lets me make and edit new phrases. Perfect for movie making.
Great work, as always.
People are gonna think I'm outright ripping you off if you keep doing awesome things like this for me to draw my inspiration from. =) I'm currently throwing ideas around for an anime-styled intro much like this one to a series I'll be starting as soon as I finish Fall of Sigma.
I can't wait to see what role Eggman will play in the future. I forgot that you never actually see him killed when the Death Egg crashes, so he could have definitely escaped and is biding his time with another crazy egg-themed invention up his sleeve.
Looking forward to episode 7!
Could be a lot better.
After watching this whole series and going through several pages of reviews, I saw far too many 10s, all of them undeserved.
Sprites - The actual edits weren't too terribly bad, but the recoloring was just atrocious. Like Metagen's original form. I think I saw at least 12 different colors on him. Ultimate/Final Form Sigma had a decent shape, but his colors were too heavy, for lack of a beter word. By that I mean that it was one shade of black all over, one shade of red, etc. Try experimenting with different shades to make it look more professional, and not like a simple paint bucket coloring. The fights definitely had a lot of action, but most of it was just brightly colored energy blasts and 5,000 sword slashes. Vary it up a little!
Sounds - WAY TOO LOUD. Also, you used the same sounds too often. There are much more than one impact sound, one energy blast sound, one screaming sound, do some searching! When I was looking for sounds for the flash I'm working on, I found at least 6 different punching and kicking sounds at ESF World Networkxx, and I plan to use each and every one of them. The music, while some of them were good choices (I almost used the Dimmu Borgir song myself) was drowned out by all the screaming and energy blasts. As for the voice acting, let's put it this way. I turned down my speakers during all the talking scenes. If I were you I'd just stick to text boxes, unless you can get some damn good actors. (WHY WAS DRAGOON GERMAN.) On a side note, please, PLEASE work on your writing. I had to get up and get some crackers for all the cheese. Also, profanity doesn't make a movie better. When's the last time you heard Knuckles call someone a bitch out of nowhere?
You definitely have potential as a sprite artist, but you've still got a ways to go before you're on par with the likes of Alvin-Earthworm and Proxicide.
This was done 2 years ago. Alvin was inspired by this to make his series. I've gotten a lot better since then.
I liked the others much better. What was up with the DBZ shit in there? Quistis doing a Kamehameha on Zell was pretty retarded.
The deleted scenes were okay. Dracula fucking himself up with the cross movement in the the soccer game was pretty clever.
Weirdo9, the change in Zell's appearance probably takes from most anime where some characters become super-deformed, a.k.a. Chibi for some scenes, usually for comedy purposes. Steel Angel Kurumi does this a lot.
The animation was really smooth, which I liked a lot. But you lost points for bad dialogue, a bad ending, and the retarded credits thing. Also, the storyline didn't make sense. Why not just have an evil character as the villain instead of some good guy like Rayden?
It looks pretty, but it's just Madness with cute bunnies. Nothing terribly original.
My only complaint is tha Ozzie didn't fight back. He just stood there and took it. You could have had him turn a crank like he does and summon enemies or something.
I don't remember Magus' scythe being visible in the game. Did you add that yourself? That's some nice sprite editing if you did.
